Milo has said he plans to dress up as “mattress girl” Emma Sulkowicz when he speaks at Columbia University next week as part of his “Dangerous Faggot” tour.
The alt-right provocateur wants to pay homage to Sulkowicz, who rose to national prominence after carrying a mattress around Columbia to protest the non-expulsion of her alleged rapist and the institution’s sexual assault policies.
Paul Nungesser, the student she accused, has since sued Columbia — though not her.
Milo told Politico: “I can’t think of a more perfect outfit for Columbia than a mattress and a fake rape claim.”
“Mattress Girl” gave Milo’s plans the seal of approval to the same outlet.”He is dressing in drag as me? And carrying a mattress? He’ll get a sense of how it feels. That’s fantastic. I hope he carries a real one, and doesn’t cop out with an air mattress.”
Milo is addressing Columbia University on Wednesday next week in an event run by the university’s Republican Club. NYU, meanwhile, canceled another of his events on security grounds.
Libertarian feminist academic Christina Hoff Sommers, who last week had a Facebook Live session with Heat Street‘s Louise Mensch, criticized Milo’s sartorial choice, telling Politico: “I told him not to do it, but he doesn’t listen…it’s so incorrect, beyond words…. It’ll be the mother of all triggerings.”
