Nearly two weeks after Milo Yiannopoulos was ejected from Twitter, he’s continuing to rile the microblogging network.

The conservative provocateur and Breitbart Tech Editor was banned from Twitter after it objected to the role he played in the online abuse meted out to black actress Leslie Jones. The abuse aimed at Jones followed Milo’s review of the new Ghostbusters film in which she features.

Since his exit from the network, #FreeMilo protesters (nicknamed Neroines after his @Nero Twitter handle) have vociferously protested the ban.

#FreeMilo chalk slogans have popped up on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in San Francisco, North Dakota, Ireland and outside the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, the location of last month’s Islamic terror attack.

Now Neroines are alleging that Twitter has hired security guards outside the company’s New York office to deter the activity of Milo activists. According to Breitbart, the slogan was swiftly washed off the pavement, and  #FreeMilo activist Neil Dywer reported that a security guard “heckled” him.

Megan Martinez, another Neroine, told Breitbart: “Twitter wants to silence the minority they disagree with. This is not how free speech works. Once again, you don’t have to agree (with) or even like Milo, but he is entitled to voice his opinions just as you and I are allowed.

“Don’t stomp on freedom of speech. This is why the chalking must continue until he is back and our voices at Twitter are heard.”

Twitter did not get back to Heat Street‘s request for a comment regarding the allegations.

As we reported yesterday, Milo has filed a claim under the Subject Access Request, a European law, that obliges Twitter to release the data the company has on him in its office in Ireland. Milo wants to find out more about exactly why he was banned from the network.
