Updated: University of Kansas has responded to Heat Street‘s story. The school tells us that Mr. White is “listed as a graduate student” in the schools directory (despite being listed on the school’s website as an employee and lecturer) and directed us to inform Mr. Lepinski that he could take his could take his concerns to KU’s public safety department.

Over the weekend, we brought you the story of a Young America’s Foundation chapter’s attempt to hold a discussion about safe spaces and trigger warnings with the social justice warriors at Kansas University. They wound up getting harassed, berated and screamed at by KU’s “peace activists.”
Now, it seems, KU YAF chairman Gabe Lepinski is under attack from a member of the school’s staff, “social psychology” researcher Mark White. In a series of Twitter interactions Sunday night, White appears to target Lepinski as well as Kassy Dillon, who reported on the KU event for Campus Reform. (Kassy has also, in the past, reported for Heat Street).
White referred to Lepinksi as a “motherfucker,” telling him to “fuck off” KU’s campus.
Lepinksi was able to capture White’s rant in screenshots. White has now deleted his Twitter account.
In one Tweet, White openly admits to his position at Kansas U.
When confronted, White was just as polite.
Dillon managed to capture the full conversation before White scrubbed it from the social media platform.
Heat Street has reached out to the University of Kansas for comment.
KU’s Young America’s Foundation still plans on holding further discussions with the campus’s social justice activists, in an effort to reach some common ground, though they admit it’s been a difficult experience.
