Few people would argue that Kim Kardashian isn’t a nefarious force crumbling the very foundations of our culture. But few people would argue that it’s on purpose — or, OK, they at least wouldn’t argue that it’s part of a complex plan authored by the American government to destabilize the Iranian political regime and inject Western values into Muslim society.

But according to Vanity Fair, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard — the sometimes brutal Iranian force charged with “defending the Islamic Republic against internal and external threats” and enforcing the country’s strict morality is investigating Kim Kardashian as a possible deliberate and nefarious “secret agent” corrupting Iranian youth.

Its sounds hilarious, right? How could Kim Kardashian be a secret, well, anything? But the Iranian Guard considers it no laughing matter. The Kardashian-centric investigation is part of a larger “Operation Spider 2” with the Iran Revolutionary Guard rooting out and eliminating threats to what they consider to be “Islamic values.” Kim Kardashian, who recently pledged to keep taking nude selfies until she dies, is only one of many targets.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard may be unaware that they are crediting Kim Kardashian with a talent she doesn’t possess, but her alleged influence is having real world consequences.

The Guard has arrested close to 350 people, including photographers, makeup artists, and models, many for the crime of showing their hair in public. Some of the models, were interrogated on camera and forced to publicly apologize for breaking the strict Iranian dress code. One top Iranian Instagrammer has fled to Dubai.
