‘Hugh Mungus Needs Our Help’: Fundraising Campaign Blows Past Goal

After facing the wrath of Seattle-based Black Lives Matter activist Zarna Joshi, Hugh Mungus (whose real name is Rudy Pantoja) rocketed to Internet fame.

In the months since he was accused of harassment for simply existing, Pantoja has remained relatively quiet, with the exception of his interview with Ethan Klein from H3H3 Productions. Now, Ethan is using his platform to help the man he says is “a wonderful man who has selflessly fought against being harassed and defamed.”

According to Klein, Pantoja is currently going through some tough times. The GoFundMe page set up to help Pontaja says that “he is having a lot of health problems, he may have cancer, he had a hip replacement, his truck broke down, and he was been served eviction notice.”

Klein originally set up the fundraiser on the site YouCaring, but it was taken down because it “incites controversy” and “does not have a clear cause.”

Klein then moved the fundraiser to GoFundMe with a goal of $10,000 and, after only eight hours, has raised $19,000 to help Hugh Mungus. Meanwhile, his antagonist, Joshi, has raised just $2,120 of the $20,000 she says will be required to take down the patriarchy.
