Fired Mizzou Professor Melissa Click Has a New Job … At Gonzaga University in Washington

Melissa Click, the outspoken social justice warrior who was famously fired from her professor job at the University of Missouri, has landed a new job at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

Click’s new gig was first reported by the Kansas City Star.

Click lost her position at Mizzou after she was filmed calling for “some muscle” to remove a student photographer from the protests there last fall. The unflattering video went viral, making Click notorious worldwide. She later received pro bono assistance from a sympathetic public relations firm to rehabilitate her image.

Gonzaga’s website now lists the social justice warrior as a lecturer in their Communications Department.  Her bio there says she specializes in “texts and audiences disdained in mainstream culture”, including readers of romance novels.

Click’s firing from Mizzou was controversial, and a report released by the American Association of University Professors found that Mizzzou’s board of curators erred by not giving her due process. She has said that she would weigh her legal options but has yet to file a lawsuit.
