The hashtag #IfMenHadPeriods was devised as a way to poke fun at men’s inability to handle or empathize with periods. I know, gross, right?

But apparently this feminist-inspired hashtag has fallen victim to the problematic police. The charge: transphobia.
A Hillary Clinton staffer weighs in:
Some men do have periods this hashtag needs to not #IfMenHadPeriods

The hashtag is transphobic because trans men have periods, while trans women do not. This fun thought experiment is now literally deleting the voices of the marginalized.
It's 2016 can we stop gendering periods

I know right? It’s the current year, and everybody gets a period.
This hashtag has every social justice warrior rearing to come up with their original hot take on the issue.

Or maybe its because all cis people aren’t creative enough to make a non-problematic hashtags.
#ifmenhadperiods cis ppl would have to come up with other, more truthful hashtags and we all know creativity isn't their strong suit

It goes with out saying that everyone has been microaggressed here.
#ifmenhadperiods is microaggression in itself. once again refusing to acknowledge the trans community.

And of course it’s whitey’s fault.
#IfMenHadPeriods is such a gross tag. Plenty of trans men deal with periods you fucking facist white xenophobes. It's 2016

So next time you try to come up with a fun thought experiment hashtag — don’t. Someone will be offended.
