Expendable! Online Movement Boycotting Stallone Over Trump Ties

Sylvester Stallone has emerged as a key high-profile ally of Donald Trump in recent weeks.

Although he reputedly turned down the President-Elect’s offer to head up the National Endowment for the Arts, he has tweeted support for Trump and was a guest at his New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago.

President elect Trump , my brother and myself .. Wishing a Happy New Year, and now dedicated to… https://t.co/rHpYdKj01L

Stallone has long been a high-profile Republican supporter. But sure enough, the Rocky and Expendables actor-director’s links to Trump have enraged the #NeverTrump resistance movement who have now pledged to boycott his movies:

@flourishful @shannoncoulter @TheWrap Boycott both. Stallone loves Trump. He should high kick instead of #rockettes https://t.co/5tTFRDzcNM

Aside from a small role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Sly’s next high-profile movie is The Expendables 4 not due for release until the summer of 2018 so we’ll have to wait a while to discover what effect, if any, this burgeoning boycott movement may have.
