Dave Chappelle hasn’t been this funny for quite some time. The stand-up comedian and actor backtracked on his pro-Donald Trump comments from last week, saying he is voting for Hillary.
Chappelle defended Trump during a surprise show on Friday. According to the Observer, he said Trump “is the most gangsta candidate ever” and stood up for him over his infamous “Grab ’em by the p*ssy” comments in the leaked 2005 Access Hollywood video with Billy Bush.
“What I heard on that tape was gross but the way I got to hear it was even more gross,” Chappelle added. ” You know that came directly from Hillary.”
Comedian Dave Chappelle doesn’t ‘feel good’ about voting for Clinton😰 . . . Dave Chappelle doesn’t ‘feel good’ about voting for Clinton Dave Chappelle admitted he voted for Clinton during a stand-up comedy show Friday night, but doesn't "feel good" about his choice. The comedian said Trump's previous comments didn't sound like sexual assault and accused the media of distorting Trump's words. #Hillary #HillaryClinton #ImWithHer #DaveChappelle #Funny
Chappelle also claimed Trump’s comments didn’t constitute sexual harassment: “Sexual assault? It wasn’t. He said, ‘And when you’re a star, they let you do it.’ That phrase implies consent. I just don’t like the way the media twisted that while thing. Nobody questioned it.”
He added of Clinton, “She’s going to be on a coin someday. And her behavior has not been coin-worthy. She’s not right and now we all know she’s not right.”
Chappelle’s spokeswoman told Variety: “Dave is disgusted by the tone of the election and especially by the idea that his comedy would be misconstrued to defend Trump. His comedy show blasted both candidates.”
His rep added: “By the way, he voted for Hillary.”
Chappelle is scheduled to host Saturday Night Live this weekend where he can elaborate on why Hillary is “not right.”
