Last week, Cosmopolitan published an article claiming that a recent Victoria Secret Fashion Show was guilty of including ‘racist lingerie’  because some of the designs had been borrowed from other cultures. The piece was quickly criticized as patently ridiculous. People on social media found absurd the idea that an underwear line can be culturally appropriative or can ‘enable the patriarchy.’

Looks like Cosmo got the message. By the end of the week, the goofy article has mysteriously disappeared from the Internet. Now the article page simply shows a  ‘page not found’ message. And the article also does not appear to have been moved to a different URL.

Thankfully, the original piece lives on thanks to archiving sites.

Heat Street has reached out to Cosmo for comment but has yet to hear back.
