A year full of embarrassment for Amy Schumer just got even more unedifying. She’s just found a buyer for her New York apartment but reportedly at a significant loss compared with what she paid for it.
The Trainwreck comedienne bought the penthouse pad on Manhattan’s Upper West Side — located a block away from Central Park– for $1.695 million in September 2014. Just fourteen months later, she put it on the market for $2.075 million.
This seems a ridiculous price for a fourth floor, one bedroom apartment in a building with no elevator, and it’s not surprising it remained on the market for more than a year. Schumer might well have thought her celebrity would have resulted in her selling the co-op as a premium, but real estate sales are soft in Manhattan and she was forced to reduce the listing price to $1.625 million, switching real estate agents in the process.
Variety reports that the 850-square-foot co-op is now in contract at an unknown price.

Schumer has lived in various locations of New York for more than a decade. Now that she’s is on Forbes‘ annual list of highest-earning comedians, the comedienne is clearly banking on her fame enduring with two movies out next year.
