First there was a spate of dodgy videos shot at Victorian railway stations. Now the bar has been raised with the discovery of a trove of pornographic images shot inside a government ministry.

There is, after all, nothing like the civil service to get the blood racing.

A woman working for Belgium’s interior ministry was suspended when her colleagues stumbled across naked pictures of her inside the government department’s offices in central Brussels.

However, the unidentified woman has hit back saying the images are private and have no relation to her day job, Belgian news site Het Laatste Nieuws reported.

The administrative employee’s extra-curricular activities first came to light in a French television report on people who offer sexual services. Further images then emerged of the staff member posing naked within the ministry building as well as the lifts.

After seeing the pictures, her boss suspended the employee on full pay. But she has claimed the photos were a private matter and the suspension was a “vindictive measure” that has harmed her reputation.

“I’m being treated by a leper,” she was reported as saying in Belgian media.

A spokesman for Interior Minister Jan Jambon confirmed the incident and said the employee was being suspended “in the interests of the public.”

The top administrative court in the European nation, the Council of State, said the woman has risked besmirching her own reputation by taking the pictures in her workplace and then distributing them online.
