Lena Dunham is opening up about her post-election meltdown, recounting in an interview with Nylon magazine the “psychotic moment” in which discovered her passion to become a “wildlife rehabilitation and a crystal expert.”
“My boyfriend was like, ‘No, you’re not,'” Dunham said in the interview. “I’m like, ‘I’m going to rehabilitate squirrels and owls. And I’m going to educate myself so that I can do crystal healings.’ He was like ‘Good luck with that.'”
Dunham offered clues regarding her obsession with magic crystals by posting photos on her Instagram account during her post-election retreat into the Arizona wilderness.
“I interrupt this restorative weekend to let you know that I have a new passion/safe space and it’s pictures of dogs with crystals on their heads,” Dunham wrote in an Instagram post. The accompanying photo (of a frightened dog forced to pose with a crystal on its head) received more than 30,000 likes.
Dunham, a outspoken supporter of Hillary Clinton, has engaged in some bizarre behavior following the election of Donald Trump. Last month, the woke celeb was forced to delete an ill-advised “toilet selfie” she took of herself posing in a fancy bathroom stall.
Last week, Dunham posted a photo of herself wearing a dog collar and described herself as a “submissive princess.” It’s not clear why.
